What's Happening?
At Plastindia 2026, BASF showcased its advanced light stabilizer solutions designed to extend the durability of plastics across various industries. The company's Tinuvin® NOR® platform enhances the performance of agricultural films, providing protection against strong sunlight, heat, and chemicals. This technology supports sustainable plasticulture by improving mulch and greenhouse film performance. BASF's solutions are part of its VALERAS® portfolio, which aims to advance sustainability throughout the plastic lifecycle. The event also featured BASF's Irgastab® Cable KV 10, which enhances the stability of high-voltage power cables, and Tinuvin® products that protect solar energy-producing floating pontoons from UV damage.
Why It's Important?
BASF's innovations in plastic
durability are significant for industries reliant on long-lasting materials, such as agriculture, energy, and infrastructure. By improving the lifespan and performance of plastics, these solutions contribute to sustainability efforts and reduce the environmental impact of plastic waste. The ability to withstand harsh environmental conditions ensures that products like agricultural films and power cables remain effective over time, reducing replacement costs and resource consumption. BASF's focus on sustainability aligns with global efforts to minimize plastic pollution and promote eco-friendly practices in manufacturing and agriculture.
