The Chicago-based vocal ensemble withonevoice is set to perform a free concert at Western Illinois University (WIU) on July 23, 2026. The concert, titled 'Hold Fast,' will feature world premieres by composers Alex Berko and Ryan Korell from Illinois,
and MaryAnne Muglia from Arizona. This event is part of the ensemble's summer season and will also be held at Baker Memorial United Methodist Church in St. Charles on July 25. The ensemble, consisting of 16 professional musicians and teachers from various states, is in the second year of a three-year project to record and commission its first album, expected in 2028. The residency at WIU will run from July 20 to July 23, with public rehearsals available. The ensemble aims to promote vocal versatility and exploration through diverse performances, educational experiences, and workshops.
