The Barrelhand Monolith is a new watch designed specifically for space environments, featuring a monolithic Aerolight X2 ceramic lume structure. This open-source design aims to thrive in extreme temperatures ranging from -120°C to 120°C, making it suitable
for extravehicular activities (EVA). The watch's structure is composed of welded brass plates, avoiding the use of paints or adhesives, and is noted for its legibility and architectural depth. The design is a collaborative effort, with contributions from James Thompson, also known as Black Badger. The watch includes a memory disc module, drawing parallels to historical space artifacts like the plaques on Pioneer 10 and 11 and the golden records on the Voyager probes. The Monolith represents a hopeful step towards humanity's expansion into space.
