What's Happening?
Doeren Mayhew, a Top 50 accounting firm based in Troy, Michigan, has acquired Miami-based Parlade Schaefer Schortz (PSS CPAs). This acquisition aims to expand Doeren Mayhew's presence in the South Florida market, particularly in the healthcare sector.
PSS CPAs, known for providing tax, accounting, and consulting services, specializes in healthcare, construction, entertainment, and real estate. The acquisition adds 25 employees to Doeren Mayhew and increases its healthcare client base to over 1,250. PSS CPAs' partners, Jaime Parlade and Justin Schaefer, will join Doeren Mayhew as principals. The firm, which reported $240 million in revenue, now has over 1,300 employees nationwide and nearly 1,500 globally.
Why It's Important?
This acquisition is significant as it strengthens Doeren Mayhew's capabilities in the healthcare sector, a critical area given the industry's complexity and growth potential. By expanding its services in South Florida, a dynamic and competitive market, Doeren Mayhew positions itself to offer more integrated services, including insurance, valuations, and transaction advisory. This move not only enhances the firm's service offerings but also aligns with its broader strategy to invest in high-growth regions. The acquisition also opens opportunities for PSS CPAs to expand into complementary areas such as sports and entertainment, thereby broadening its client base and service range.
What's Next?
Following the acquisition, Doeren Mayhew is expected to leverage its expanded capabilities to attract more clients in the healthcare sector and beyond. The firm plans to continue investing in the South Florida region, aiming to grow its audit, tax, and consulting services. This strategic expansion could lead to further acquisitions or partnerships as Doeren Mayhew seeks to enhance its market position. The integration of PSS CPAs' expertise and client base will likely be a focus in the coming months, with an emphasis on delivering enhanced value to existing and new clients.
