What's Happening?
The Recording Academy and Grammy Museum have announced that George Clinton, Heart, Lucinda Williams, and Take 6 will perform at the 2026 Grammy Hall of Fame Gala on May 8. The event, hosted by Anthony Mason at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, will honor
14 recordings for their historical significance. These include titles from as early as 1926, such as Bertha 'Chippie' Hill's 'Trouble in Mind,' to more recent works like Lucinda Williams' 1998 album 'Car Wheels on A Gravel Road.' The gala will also feature Norah Jones, who will receive the Ray Charles Architect of Sound Award. The Grammy Hall of Fame, established by the Recording Academy's national trustees, recognizes recordings released before the Grammy Awards began in 1959, with selections based on qualitative or historical significance.
