What's Happening?
Brevet Capital has announced that the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has approved the first I-829 Petition for an investor in the JW Marriott Bonnet Creek Resort & Spa project in Orlando, Florida. This approval marks the final step
in the EB-5 immigration process, which allows foreign nationals to obtain U.S. permanent residency through investments in job-creating enterprises. The approval confirms that the project has met all program requirements, including the creation of the necessary number of jobs. As a result, the investor and their eligible family members are expected to receive unconditional permanent resident status in the U.S.
Why It's Important?
The approval of the I-829 petition is a significant milestone for both Brevet Capital and the EB-5 program, which is designed to stimulate the U.S. economy through job creation and capital investment by foreign investors. The JW Marriott Bonnet Creek Resort & Spa project, a $282 million development, has contributed to the local economy by creating jobs and enhancing the hospitality sector in Orlando. This success story highlights the potential benefits of the EB-5 program in attracting foreign investment and supporting economic growth in the U.S., particularly in regions with high tourism and hospitality demand.
What's Next?
With the I-829 approval, the investor and their family will transition to unconditional permanent residency, allowing them to live and work in the U.S. without restrictions. For Brevet Capital, this success may encourage further investments in similar projects, leveraging the EB-5 program to finance large-scale developments. The positive outcome could also influence other investors considering the EB-5 route, potentially leading to increased foreign investment in U.S. infrastructure and real estate projects.
