MaxBotix has launched the ProxiView-EZ Series, a new line of dual ultrasonic and optical sensors designed for reliable presence detection in self-service kiosks and smart buildings. These sensors provide accurate detection from 1 millimeter to 5 meters, addressing limitations of single-technology sensors such as missed detections and false activations. The ProxiView-EZ Series is intended for indoor and semi-enclosed installations, supporting various kiosk and embedded system architectures. Key features include reliable detection independent of ambient lighting, defined detection zones, and low-power operation. The series includes three variants, each supporting presence detection or full-range distance reporting.
