What's Happening?
The Copenhagen International Fashion Fair (CIFF) is set to establish a permanent presence in Paris by opening a curated showroom during the upcoming Paris Fashion Week in June. This strategic move marks CIFF's first permanent venture outside Copenhagen,
aiming to enhance brand visibility and foster closer collaboration with international brands. The showroom, located in the Le Marais district, will span three floors and feature 15 to 20 selected international brands, including Rains, Opéra Sport, and Woodbird. CIFF director Sofie Dolva emphasized the importance of maintaining a presence in multiple markets to ensure greater continuity and collaboration with the fashion community.
Why It's Important?
CIFF's expansion into Paris represents a significant step in its international strategy, providing brands with a platform to engage with a broader audience during one of the most prestigious fashion events. The move addresses the challenges brands face in gaining visibility and attracting buyers in a competitive environment like Paris Fashion Week. By offering a collective showroom space, CIFF aims to support brands in overcoming these challenges and ensuring consistent footfall. This initiative is expected to strengthen CIFF's role as a key player in the global fashion industry, offering brands year-round support and engagement opportunities.
What's Next?
The CIFF Paris showroom will host various networking and content events, including Nordic Breakfasts and Aperitivo events, to facilitate connections between brands and industry professionals. The initiative will also feature special editions of the CIFF media podcast 'On Location' with Fashion Forum. CIFF plans to collaborate with local partners to ensure consistent footfall and engagement in the showroom. This expansion is part of CIFF's broader international activities, which include collaborations with the CFDA during New York Fashion Week and participation in the Scandinavian Manifesto during Pitti Uomo in Florence.
