Kariya Pharmaceuticals and NeuraLight have announced a partnership to advance brain-focused GLP-1 therapeutics. This collaboration integrates NeuraLight’s precision biomarker platform into Kariya’s Phase II program for KP405, a dual GLP-1/GIP agonist
designed for Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease. The partnership aims to quantify the neuroprotective effects of KP405, which is engineered to cross the blood-brain barrier and reduce neuroinflammation. This development follows previous trials indicating the potential of GLP-1 therapies in neurodegeneration, although past trials with non-brain-penetrant GLP-1s did not meet primary endpoints.
