What's Happening?
The New Zealand International Film Festival (NZIFF) has announced the first 12 films for its 2026 program. The lineup includes a diverse range of films from various countries, such as 'Comédie-Française' from France, 'Father Mother Sister Brother' by
Jim Jarmusch from the USA, and 'Do You Love Me,' a documentary from Lebanon. The festival will open in Tāmaki Makaurau on July 29th and close on August 9th, before traveling to other locations across New Zealand. The Centrepiece film for this year is 'Lomu,' a portrait of the legendary Jonah Lomu, which will debut at The Civic in Auckland on August 1st. Artistic Director Paolo Bertolin expressed excitement about the lineup, highlighting its cinematic quality and emotional impact.
