and Curtis, the president and executive vice president of MLS sporting development, are instrumental in shaping the player development pathway. This system, established over the past five years, provides young players with a clear route from youth academies to professional ranks. Since the launch of MLS NEXT Pro in 2022, over 250 players have signed MLS first-team contracts, with many having progressed through the academy system. The initiative aims to offer clarity and structure for aspiring players, starting from the U13 level, and has already seen significant success with players being called up to national teams globally.
