L3Harris Technologies has announced a $1.27 billion expansion of its manufacturing site in Orange County, Virginia. This expansion aims to enhance the production of solid rocket motors for the Department of Defense. The new Virginia Advanced Propulsion
Facilities will focus on mixing, grinding, casting, and assembling rocket components. This initiative is part of a broader effort to increase production capacity and modernize facilities, following a $1 billion investment from the Pentagon. The expansion is expected to more than double the current manufacturing space and create 350 jobs over the next five years.
