Ur-Energy has reported significant production improvements at its Lost Creek uranium operation during the first quarter of 2026. The company captured 110,000 pounds of uranium on resin, marking a 41% increase from the previous quarter. Additionally, Ur-Energy has commenced
initial mining activities at its Shirley Basin mine, positioning the company for what it describes as an 'inflection year.' The uranium market is experiencing a strengthening backdrop due to rising electricity demand linked to AI data center development and nuclear reactor restarts. The U.S. government is supporting domestic nuclear fuel supply chains, which is crucial as only about 4% of uranium deliveries to U.S. utilities in 2024 are expected to be of U.S. origin.
