What's Happening?
Critica has initiated a scoping study for the Jupiter Rare Earth Project in Western Australia, marking a significant step from technical validation to organized project development. The study, led by Sedgman with support from Snowden Optiro and SRK Consulting, aims to establish a well-defined and cost-effective development plan for the project. The study will focus on converting Jupiter's scale and beneficiation performance into a viable project configuration. Critica is also conducting metallurgical testwork and a pilot-scale beneficiation program to optimize its mixed rare earth product pathway.
Why It's Important?
The Jupiter Rare Earth Project represents a strategic opportunity to enhance the supply of rare earth elements, which are critical for various high-tech
and green-energy applications. By advancing this project, Critica aims to contribute to the diversification of global rare earth supplies, reducing reliance on China. The project's development could provide significant economic benefits, including job creation and increased investment in the region. As demand for rare earths continues to grow, projects like Jupiter are essential for meeting future supply needs.
What's Next?
Critica plans to complete the scoping study by the first half of 2026, followed by a pre-feasibility study in the second half of the year. A definitive feasibility study is scheduled for 2027, with a final investment decision anticipated by 2029. The company will continue drilling campaigns to optimize resources and support the project's development. Successful completion of these stages could lead to the construction and commissioning of the project, positioning Critica as a key player in the rare earths market.
