What's Happening?
The Assistance League of Los Angeles is hosting 'A Chic Affaire 2026' at the Skirball Cultural Center on April 24. This event combines fashion and philanthropy, featuring a runway show, luncheon, and live auction. Proceeds will benefit programs serving
over 22,000 children in Los Angeles, including Prom Day and Operation School Bell. The event, a tradition since 1955, is organized by the Mannequins Auxiliary and College Alumni Auxiliary, with a goal to raise $200,000 to support underserved, homeless, and foster youth.
Why It's Important?
'A Chic Affaire 2026' underscores the role of community events in supporting social causes. By combining fashion with fundraising, the Assistance League not only raises essential funds but also increases awareness of the challenges faced by underserved youth. The event highlights the power of community engagement in addressing social issues and the importance of sustained support for programs that provide essential services to vulnerable populations. The involvement of prominent brands like GUESS in the runway show also reflects the potential for corporate partnerships in philanthropy.
