and the Bennett School for Girls in New York before embarking on a brief career in New York City. She later settled in Chicago, where she worked as an assistant at the Reynolds Company. Hough was known for her active social life and was a member of the Chicago Snow Chase Club, where she met her husband, John W. Hough. The couple married in 1961 and had six children. Hough was an avid sports enthusiast, enjoying tennis, platform tennis, and golf. She also loved spending winters in Florida and was known for her daily walks and bridge games.
