What's Happening?
American Pacific Mining has secured contracts with O’Keefe Drilling and Nasco Industrial Services and Supply for a 15,000-meter drilling program at the Madison Copper-Gold Project in Montana. The program, set to begin in May 2026, will employ both reverse
circulation (RC) and diamond core drilling methods. The initiative aims to expand known copper-gold skarn mineralization at the surface and explore deeper porphyry targets. Recent analyses suggest that Madison may be part of a larger mineralized system, prompting the company to test up to eight high-priority targets informed by comprehensive technical assessments.
Why It's Important?
This drilling program represents the most extensive coordinated effort by American Pacific Mining at the Madison site, highlighting the company's commitment to expanding its resource base. The project's success could significantly enhance the company's portfolio and contribute to the U.S. domestic supply of copper and gold, which are vital for various industries, including electronics and renewable energy. The use of both drilling methods aims to improve cost-effectiveness and efficiency, potentially setting a precedent for future exploration projects.
What's Next?
The drilling program will commence with RC drilling, followed by diamond core drilling, with the first rig expected to be deployed in May. Initial results are anticipated later in the summer, which will provide insights into the project's potential and guide future exploration efforts. Stakeholders will be keenly observing the outcomes, as successful expansion of mineralization could lead to further investment and development in the region.
