What's Happening?
Revolution Medicines has unveiled data showing that its drug daraxonrasib nearly doubled overall survival for patients with advanced pancreatic cancer. The Phase 3 RASolute 302 trial demonstrated that patients on daraxonrasib had an overall survival of
13.2 months compared to 6.7 months for those on standard chemotherapy. The drug also improved progression-free survival and objective response rates. The FDA has granted expanded access to the drug, and a potential U.S. launch is anticipated in the third quarter of 2026.
Why It's Important?
The results from the RASolute 302 trial represent a significant advancement in the treatment of pancreatic cancer, a disease with a historically low survival rate. The success of daraxonrasib could lead to a shift in treatment paradigms, offering patients a more effective option with fewer side effects compared to traditional chemotherapy. This development also validates Revolution Medicines' broader RAS program, which could impact the treatment of other cancers with RAS mutations.
What's Next?
Revolution Medicines is preparing for a potential U.S. launch of daraxonrasib in the third quarter of 2026. The company is also exploring the drug's application in other cancers, such as non-small cell lung cancer and colorectal cancer. Ongoing trials, including RASolute 303 and RASolve 301, will further evaluate the drug's efficacy in different treatment lines and cancer types.
