What's Happening?
The Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP) Foundation has announced the winners of its Fall 2025 Graduate Blog Competition. This competition is part of the Master of Science in Global
Hospitality Business program, a collaboration between the Conrad N. Hilton College of Global Hospitality Leadership at the University of Houston, the School of Hotel and Tourism Management at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and the EHL Hospitality Business School. The competition invites students to submit blog articles on critical topics in the hospitality industry. This semester, four top-scoring articles were selected by a panel of judges to be published on the HFTP Connect blog. The winning entries include topics such as sustainable smart hotels, the nomad lifestyle in hospitality, and the integration of AI in guest services. The winners will receive a complimentary one-year HFTP Young Professional Membership to support their professional growth.
Why It's Important?
This competition highlights the innovative ideas and research being conducted by graduate students in the hospitality industry. By focusing on critical industry topics, the competition encourages students to explore and propose solutions to current challenges, such as sustainability and technological integration. The recognition and publication of these articles provide a platform for emerging talents to influence the industry and contribute to its evolution. The competition also fosters a global exchange of ideas, as it involves institutions from different parts of the world, promoting diversity in thought and approach. The awarded HFTP membership further supports the professional development of these students, helping them to build networks and gain insights into the industry.
What's Next?
The winning articles will be published on HFTP channels over the coming months, allowing the broader hospitality community to engage with the insights and proposals of these emerging professionals. This exposure could lead to further opportunities for the students, such as collaborations with industry leaders or invitations to present at conferences. The competition is expected to continue in future semesters, providing ongoing opportunities for students to contribute to the field and for the industry to benefit from fresh perspectives.
