What's Happening?
The Florida Panthers, in collaboration with Scripps Sports and ViewLift, have introduced a 'Quarter Season Pass' for the remainder of the 2025-26 NHL season. This pass, priced at $24.99, allows subscribers to access all remaining locally televised games.
The pass is designed for fans who wish to watch games on-the-go or on multiple devices, providing unlimited access to content such as full game replays, highlights, and pregame shows. The pass can be purchased exclusively through PanthersPlus.TV, and subscribers can access the content on various platforms including iOS, Android, Apple TV, Roku, and Amazon Fire TV. However, games exclusive to national television through NHL rightsholders like ESPN and TNT will not be available on Panthers Plus.
Why It's Important?
The introduction of the 'Quarter Season Pass' is significant as it enhances accessibility for Florida Panthers fans, allowing them to follow their team more conveniently. This move could potentially increase viewership and fan engagement, especially among those who prefer digital streaming over traditional cable. By offering a flexible and affordable option, the Panthers are likely to attract a broader audience, which could lead to increased revenue from subscriptions. Additionally, this initiative reflects a growing trend in sports broadcasting where teams and leagues are leveraging digital platforms to reach fans directly, bypassing traditional broadcast limitations.
