The game is inspired by the high-fantasy novel series 'The Bird That Drinks Tears' by South Korean author Lee Youngdoo. Project Windless is described as a Dynasty Warriors-like action game where players control a sword-wielding chicken. The game features a stylized, brutal combat system where the anthropomorphic chicken character battles through hordes of enemies. The reveal trailer, shown during the PlayStation State of Play event, depicted the chicken warrior engaging in combat against numerous foes, including a snake-like woman antagonist. The game is set in a mythic age where players assume the role of a Rekon warrior, tasked with
uniting a fractured land. Project Windless is currently in development for PlayStation 5, with no announced release date.
