Carolina Lightcap, a former executive at Disney and Discovery, has launched ShowUp Studios, a new venture aimed at producing content specifically for Generation Z on platforms like YouTube and TikTok. Lightcap, who previously held significant roles such
as President of Disney Channels Worldwide and Chief Content Officer of Discovery Latin America/U.S. Hispanic, has teamed up with industry veterans Mariano Chihade, Demián Falestchi, and Federico Lauría to establish this new studio. ShowUp Studios plans to create over 4,500 episodes in its first five years, utilizing a model that focuses on free programming supported by advertising and brand integrations. The content will cover a variety of genres and formats, including both live-action and animation, and will be tailored to the preferences and platforms frequented by Gen Z.
