FIS, a major financial technology company, has partnered with AI research firm Anthropic to integrate agentic AI into banking operations, starting with a Financial Crimes AI Agent designed to improve anti-money-laundering (AML) workflows. This new AI tool
aims to reduce the time required for AML investigations from several hours to minutes by automatically assembling evidence and evaluating activity against known typologies. BMO and Amalgamated Bank are among the first to deploy this technology, with a broader rollout planned for later in 2026.
