What's Happening?
The UK Government has introduced a new online tool, Zero Carbon Services, aimed at helping hospitality businesses such as pubs, restaurants, and hotels reduce energy consumption and costs. This initiative comes as part of efforts to mitigate the impact
of the ongoing energy price crisis linked to geopolitical tensions involving the US and Israel. The tool provides tailored energy-saving advice and real-time energy monitoring, which has already been tested at 90 businesses, resulting in average annual savings of approximately £2,500 per business. The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero has allocated £350,000 to support the rollout of this tool, which is expected to benefit over 525 businesses.
