What's Happening?
Shoppe Object, a prominent home and gift show originating from New York, has made its first international expansion by debuting in Paris. The event was held at the Parc des Expositions at Porte de Versailles, coinciding with the Who’s Next trade show. This inaugural Paris edition featured 80 selected brands, with half being French and the rest from various countries including the U.S., U.K., Spain, Japan, and South Korea. The event aims to bring fresh ideas to the Parisian design scene and foster new business opportunities. Shoppe Object plans to host a capsule event in March during Paris Fashion Week, in collaboration with Matter and Shape, a design platform that intersects fashion and design.
Why It's Important?
The expansion of Shoppe Object into Paris signifies
a strategic move to tap into the European market, particularly during a time when the fashion industry is seeking innovative and diverse design influences. By aligning with Paris Fashion Week, Shoppe Object positions itself at the heart of global fashion, potentially increasing its influence and reach. This move could benefit U.S. brands by providing them with a platform to showcase their products to a broader international audience, thereby enhancing cross-cultural business opportunities and collaborations.
What's Next?
Shoppe Object plans to continue its presence in Paris with biannual events at the Porte de Versailles Expo space. The next edition is scheduled for September 5 to 7. The upcoming capsule event in March, during Paris Fashion Week, will feature collaborations with notable designers and brands, potentially drawing significant attention from the fashion and design communities. This continued presence in Paris could solidify Shoppe Object's role as a key player in the international design and fashion trade show circuit.
