Eisai, a Japanese pharmaceutical company, has received a grant from the UK government to expand its manufacturing facility in Hatfield, Hertfordshire. This expansion is part of the Life Sciences Innovative Manufacturing Fund (LSIMF), which was initially
launched in 2022 and expanded in 2024. The grant will be used to establish supply chain and packaging capabilities for medicines requiring cold transportation, such as Eisai's Alzheimer's disease therapy, Leqembi.
