Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo has been named the 2025-26 NBA Social Justice Champion, receiving the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Trophy. This recognition is awarded to players who demonstrate a commitment to social justice and equality. Adebayo was selected from
a group of five finalists for his efforts in promoting social justice and advancing equality for historically disadvantaged communities. Through his Bam, Books & Brotherhood Foundation, Adebayo has focused on educational equity, food security, and youth development in South Florida and North Carolina. During the 2025-26 NBA season, he led 18 initiatives, investing over half a million dollars into programs that expand access and opportunity for youth and families. His efforts included providing school supplies, funding student transportation to educational events, and addressing food insecurity through meal distributions.
