Ascent Aviation Services is expanding its landing gear capabilities to reduce outsourcing and turnaround times by establishing a new landing gear shop for Airbus A320 family and Boeing 737 aircraft. The company is also investing in capabilities for the
A330, aiming to become a full A330 service center. Additionally, Ascent is constructing new support buildings to modernize its infrastructure, replacing some World War II-era facilities. To prepare for passenger-to-freighter (P2F) conversions, Ascent launched an eight-week Structures Apprentice Program in January 2024, providing hands-on experience to students. Several graduates from this program have advanced to lead positions within the company.

The company is also preparing for the induction of its first Boeing 777-300ER P2F conversion, expected to begin in September. Ascent aims to increase its workforce by 300-400 jobs to support the P2F conversions and heavy maintenance growth. The company is also working on obtaining new certifications to support the P2F conversion program, including ISO 9001 and AS9100 certifications, as well as certification from the Civil Aviation Administration of China.
