Doug Yawberry has been officially named the CEO of Weigel's, a family-owned convenience store chain based in Powell, Tennessee. Yawberry, who has been with the company for 18 years, had been fulfilling
the CEO duties since the passing of his predecessor, Kenneth McMullen, in 2021. The company made his title change official in May to support its succession plans. Weigel's, which opened its first dairy in 1931 and its first Farm Store in 1958, is on track to expand its operations significantly. The chain currently operates 87 stores and aims to reach 100 by 2027. Under Yawberry's leadership, Weigel's has launched a retail media network, opened an Auto Spa car wash, and introduced a new commissary and signature menu item, the Knoxville Hot Dippin’ Chicken.
