What's Happening?
Maola Local Dairies has introduced a new line of ultrafiltered milks called Maola More, which includes prebiotic fiber to support digestive health. Available in original whole milk and 2% reduced fat chocolate milk varieties, these lactose-free beverages
are formulated with 15 grams of protein and 5 to 8 grams of sugar per serving. According to Jon Cowell, CEO of Maola, the product line is designed to meet the growing consumer demand for protein-rich, easily digestible, and lactose-free options. The addition of prebiotic fiber aims to enhance gut health, making the milk suitable for consumers of all ages.
Why It's Important?
The introduction of Maola More reflects a broader trend in the dairy industry towards functional beverages that cater to health-conscious consumers. As interest in gut health and protein intake rises, products like Maola More are positioned to capture a significant market share. This development is particularly relevant in the U.S., where dietary preferences are increasingly shifting towards foods that offer additional health benefits. The product's lactose-free formulation also addresses the needs of lactose-intolerant individuals, expanding its potential consumer base. By combining nutrition with indulgence, Maola More could influence future product innovations in the dairy sector.
