What's Happening?
Rakon has inaugurated a new ISO Class 8 cleanroom in Pont-Sainte-Marie, France, constructed by BEMIPHARM. This facility is designed to enhance the production of Rakon's space subsystems, meeting NASA and ESA standards. The cleanroom, spanning nearly 100
square meters, supports high-reliability manufacturing from material control to final assembly and radiation testing. It complements Rakon's existing facilities, allowing for increased production capacity of Master Reference Oscillators (MROs) and Space GNSS Receivers. The cleanroom's ISO Class 8 certification ensures a controlled environment suitable for high-reliability electronics assembly, crucial for space subsystem integration.
Why It's Important?
The new cleanroom is significant for Rakon as it scales up production to meet the growing demand for space mission components. The facility's ability to produce up to 300 MROs and 1,200 Space GNSS Receivers annually, with potential increases, positions Rakon to better serve the aerospace and defense sectors. This expansion supports the company's mission-critical timing solutions, essential for satellite communications and navigation. The investment reflects Rakon's commitment to maintaining high standards and reliability in space technology, which is vital for the success of modern space missions.
