What's Happening?
The LA28 Olympic Games organizers have announced a second ticket sale window from August 10-20, 2026, for the upcoming 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. This sale will offer tickets across all Olympic sports and price points, subject to availability. The first
ticket sale in April was highly successful, with over four million tickets sold. Registration for the August sale is open until July 22, and those who registered previously but did not purchase tickets will automatically be entered for future sales. The 2028 Games will feature 351 medal events, the most in Olympic history, and will be the first Summer Olympics in the U.S. since 1996.
Why It's Important?
The 2028 Los Angeles Olympics represent a significant event for the U.S., marking the return of the Summer Games to American soil after more than two decades. The ticket sales are crucial for generating revenue and ensuring high attendance at the events. The successful ticket sales reflect strong public interest and support for the Games, which are expected to boost the local economy through tourism and global exposure. The event will also showcase Los Angeles as a major international city capable of hosting large-scale events, potentially influencing future bids for global events.
What's Next?
As the 2028 Olympics approach, organizers will continue to roll out additional ticket sales and promotional activities to maintain public interest and engagement. The development of infrastructure and venues will be a key focus, with plans to highlight iconic Southern California locations. In 2027, a secure ticket resale network will be launched, and Paralympic tickets will also go on sale. The success of these initiatives will be critical in ensuring the smooth execution of the Games and maximizing their economic and cultural impact.
