What's Happening?
Meta has announced the establishment of 'America's Workforce Academy' in Louisiana, one of four locations nationwide, to address the shortage of skilled workers for AI data center construction. This no-cost training program offers a 4-5 week bootcamp,
fully funded by Meta, covering tuition, airfare, lodging, and providing a daily stipend. Participants who complete the program are guaranteed jobs with Meta's contractor partners, working on-site at data center construction sites. The initiative is part of a $115 million investment by Meta in its first year, with other pilot locations in Columbus, Ohio; Houston, Texas; and Indianapolis, Indiana. The program is in partnership with the National Urban League, Associated Builders and Contractors, and CBRE, among others.
