The Columbia Chronicle has featured Alfredo Vera, a mechanic at Brakes 4 Less and a long-time resident of Chicago's Edgewater neighborhood, as part of its '77 Community Areas' project. This initiative aims to document the diverse communities of Chicago in anticipation
of America's 250th birthday. Vera, who has lived in Edgewater for 25 years, shared his experiences since starting his job in 1999.
