What's Happening?
EMPIRE has signed a publishing deal with Grammy-winning artist Shaboozey, expanding their existing relationship. Shaboozey, known for his hit 'A Bar Song (Tipsy),' which topped the Billboard Hot 100 for 19 weeks, has been with EMPIRE since 2021. The new
deal aims to leverage his songwriting talents, with EMPIRE supporting his publishing interests. Shaboozey has also launched his own imprint, American Dogwood, in partnership with EMPIRE, and continues to release successful singles and collaborations.
Why It's Important?
This deal signifies a strategic move by EMPIRE to strengthen its roster with proven talent, enhancing its competitive edge in the music industry. For Shaboozey, the agreement provides a platform to further his career as a songwriter, potentially leading to more chart-topping hits. The partnership reflects a broader trend in the music industry where labels are increasingly investing in multi-faceted artists who can contribute both as performers and songwriters. This could influence how record labels structure deals and prioritize artist development.
