What's Happening?
Youth baseball and softball leagues in Homewood and Flossmoor are set to begin their seasons with opening day festivities. Flossmoor will host its parade on April 18, featuring a lineup at Parker Junior High and a march to Flossmoor Park. The event will include
a ceremonial first pitch and remarks at Bronco Field. Homewood's festivities will follow on April 25, celebrating the league's 75th anniversary with a parade from Irwin Park to the ball fields at Izaak Walton Preserve. The ceremonies will honor two cherished volunteers, John Hurtubise and Mike Nussbaum, with their children throwing the first pitches.
