What's Happening?
Orion Capital Managers has completed the acquisition of a 72% stake in the Corinthia Hotel Lisbon, the largest five-star hotel in the city. The transaction, initially announced in January 2026, involves Orion European Real Estate Fund VI and International
Hotel Investments Plc, the owner of the Corinthia Hotels Group. The hotel will continue to be managed by Corinthia Hotels Limited under its brand. The acquisition was facilitated by Jones Lang LaSalle as the transaction broker, with legal and technical advice provided by Vieira de Almeida, Abreu, Ficope, and Arcadis.
Why It's Important?
This acquisition represents a significant investment in the luxury hospitality sector, highlighting the continued attractiveness of high-end hotel assets in major European cities. For Orion, the deal expands its portfolio and strengthens its presence in the hospitality market. The transaction underscores the strategic importance of Lisbon as a key destination for luxury tourism and business travel. It also reflects broader trends in the real estate market, where investors are seeking stable, long-term assets in prime locations. The continued management by Corinthia ensures brand consistency and operational continuity, which is crucial for maintaining the hotel's reputation and customer loyalty.
