RTX Corporation, through its BBN Technologies division, has demonstrated a new self-healing communications system named PACE4ACE. Funded by the Air Force Research Laboratory, this system is designed to maintain
secure data flow for combat air support by automatically rerouting network traffic when primary links are compromised. The system operates across various military and commercial communication channels, dynamically selecting the best available path without operator intervention. During a recent exercise, PACE4ACE successfully maintained communication by switching waveforms in response to jamming events, ensuring continuous situational awareness.
