Organizers of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic and Paralympic Games have unveiled the official visual identity for the event, featuring a floral-themed design system. This design, known as the 'Superbloom,' is inspired by the bursts of wildflowers that appear
in Southern California after rain. The concept is intended to symbolize the culmination of years of preparation into a global event. The design incorporates 13 individual blooms representing various elements of Los Angeles, such as its entertainment culture and neighborhoods. The color palette is inspired by the Bird of Paradise, the official flower of Los Angeles, and includes colors like Poppy, Scarlet Flax, Bluebell, and Sagebrush. The typographic style draws from Los Angeles street signage to give the identity a local feel. The design was developed to be versatile across different settings, from historic venues to new facilities, and to meet broadcast and digital requirements. The early unveiling, more than two years before the opening ceremony, allows partners and stakeholders ample time to integrate the branding into their materials.
