What's Happening?
Cochlear is piloting a new integration of voice-to-text functionality into its Salesforce CRM system, aimed at streamlining lead management for its sales team. This initiative utilizes Amazon Lex as the conversational interface and is part of an internal AI system named 'Clark', based on Amazon Bedrock. The system allows sales representatives to update lead information by speaking into a phone, which then automatically populates the CRM with the relevant data. This development was announced by Andy McLaughlin, Cochlear's IT networks and telecommunications director, at the AWS re:Invent summit. The integration is designed to reduce the administrative burden on sales staff, allowing them to update records immediately after meetings while details
are fresh in their minds. Cochlear plans to roll out this system to its sales teams later in the financial year.
