Researchers at ETH Zurich in Switzerland have developed a perfect random number generator using quantum superconducting chips. This breakthrough could significantly enhance the generation of cryptographic keys, providing a 'public randomness service'
for applications such as lotteries and blockchain. The device utilizes two supercomputing chips connected by a 30-meter-long microwave guide, creating quantum entanglement to produce perfectly random sequences. This development addresses the biases found in traditional random number generators, which can lead to security vulnerabilities in various applications.
