The Standard brand is set to open its first Texas location, The Standard, Austin, in Spring 2027. This development involves the conversion and renovation of the existing South Congress Hotel, located at 1603 South Congress Ave, Austin, Texas. The project
is a collaboration between Hyatt and Timberline Real Estate Partners, aiming to create a culturally immersive space for both locals and travelers. The hotel will feature social wellness experiences, a rooftop pool, and world-class dining options. The creative team includes Amar Lalvani, president and creative director of Hyatt’s Lifestyle Group, and local architect Michael Hsu, known for his hospitality-driven approach. The interior design will be a joint effort between Goodrich Design and The Standard brand’s in-house team. The South Congress Hotel will close for renovations in Summer 2026, with The Standard, Austin expected to open the following spring.
