The incident is currently under investigation by the department's Criminal Investigations Unit, and the body has been handed over to the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office for further examination. Sheets, known by the nickname 'The Gambler,' retired from the show in 2023 and had since opened an antique shop in Lake Havasu City.
