Several Kansas basketball legends are set to return to Lawrence for the 18th annual Rock Chalk Roundball Classic, a charity event aimed at supporting families with children battling cancer. The event, initiated by Brian Hanni in 2009, has evolved from
its original purpose of aiding a local family to a broader mission of helping multiple families in need. This year's proceeds will benefit the families of the 2026 Starting Five, including Zara Smith, Romeo Padilla, Peyton Dugan, Jude Vander Kelen, and Ember Henry. The event will feature a friendly scrimmage at Lawrence Free State High School, with tickets available for purchase at various locations.
