Alain Dilworth, a key figure in the Made Smarter Adoption programme, has been honored with an MBE in the King’s New Year Honours List for his significant contributions to business growth and digitalization.
Since the programme's inception in 2018, Dilworth has been instrumental in its development, working alongside government and industry to create a national initiative aimed at helping manufacturing SMEs adopt digital technologies. As the Programme Manager for the North West adoption programme, he led the launch of a £20 million, three-year pilot that laid the groundwork for a nationwide rollout. The programme has engaged over 2,300 manufacturers in the North West, supporting more than 400 technology projects, which are expected to generate nearly 2,000 new jobs and add £287 million to the regional economy.
