The Augusta area high school girls basketball teams have shown remarkable performance in the 2025-26 season. Josey High School's girls basketball team reached the semi-final round of the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) playoffs, marking the furthest
any Augusta-area GHSA team advanced this season. In South Carolina, North Augusta High School secured its seventh South Carolina High School League (SCHSL) title in the last decade with a 63-50 victory over Westside. Other schools like Thomson, Laney, and Evans also progressed beyond the first round of the GHSA postseason, showcasing the depth of talent in the region.
