What's Happening?
The Women's Club at Hagerstown is organizing its 13th annual House and Garden Tour on June 13, featuring nine private homes and gardens across Washington County. This self-guided tour includes properties in downtown Hagerstown, Hagerstown's North End,
Boonsboro, and Williamsport, as well as the Women's Club building on South Prospect Street. The event aims to raise funds to support the club's mission of providing safe and affordable housing for women. Tickets for the tour are priced at $40 until May 31, after which they will increase to $45. The tour offers a unique opportunity for participants to explore a mix of historic and residential properties while supporting a charitable cause.
Why It's Important?
The House and Garden Tour is a significant fundraising event for the Women's Club at Hagerstown, which has been providing housing for women since its founding in 1921. The funds raised from the tour help maintain and expand the club's housing facilities, ensuring that women in need have access to safe and affordable living spaces. This event also highlights the importance of community support in addressing housing challenges, particularly for vulnerable populations. By opening up private homes and gardens to the public, the tour fosters community engagement and awareness of the club's mission, encouraging further support and involvement from local residents.
