Sonair, a leader in ultrasonic 3D sensing technology, is debuting its ADAR (Acoustic Detection and Ranging) sensor at Modex 2026 in Atlanta. This sensor, which has already been deployed in Cleanfix's autonomous cleaning robots, allows machines to perceive
their environment using sound instead of light, providing true three-dimensional spatial awareness. Developed with technology from the SINTEF research institute in Norway, ADAR uses MEMS-based transducer arrays for real-time detection of people and objects. This innovation offers reliable perception in conditions where optical sensors may fail, such as in poor lighting or dusty environments, making it ideal for busy warehouses and factories.
