What's Happening?
Maxim Naumov, a U.S. figure skater, made an emotional debut at the Olympic Games in Milan, dedicating his performance to his late parents. Naumov's parents tragically died in a plane crash over the Potomac
River in January 2025. During his short program, Naumov skated to Chopin's 'Nocturne No. 20' and afterward, kissed a photo of his parents in the kiss-and-cry area. He described feeling their presence guiding him through his routine. Naumov scored 85.65, qualifying for the free skate, although not in medal contention. His journey to the Olympics was unexpected, following a surprise bronze medal at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships.
