What's Happening?
Daher Aircraft has reached a significant milestone with the delivery of its 1,300th TBM single-engined turboprop. This achievement was celebrated at the Aero Friedrichshafen event, where the latest TBM 980
model made its debut. The TBM 980, powered by Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6E-66XT engines, features advanced avionics and cabin enhancements. Daher reports that nearly half of all TBM deliveries come from the 900-series, introduced in 2014. The TBM 980 has been delivered to a U.S. customer, marking the 13th delivery since its launch earlier this year. The TBM fleet has accumulated over 2.78 million flight hours since its inception in 1990.
Why It's Important?
The delivery of the 1,300th TBM aircraft underscores Daher's success in the high-performance turboprop market. The TBM series is known for its speed, efficiency, and versatility, making it a popular choice for private owners and business operators. This milestone reflects the growing demand for advanced turboprop aircraft, which offer a balance of performance and cost-effectiveness. Daher's continued innovation in avionics and cabin features enhances the appeal of the TBM series, positioning it strongly against competitors. The achievement also highlights the importance of the U.S. market for Daher, as it continues to expand its presence and customer base.
What's Next?
Following the Aero Friedrichshafen event, Daher plans to conduct a European tour with the Kodiak 900, a stablemate of the TBM 980, to boost sales and awareness. The tour aims to showcase the aircraft's capabilities in multi-mission roles, including regional and humanitarian operations. Daher's focus on expanding its market reach and enhancing its product offerings will likely continue, as the company seeks to capitalize on the growing demand for versatile and efficient aircraft. The aviation industry will be watching Daher's strategies closely, as they could influence market dynamics and competitive positioning.
